For the month of May I have teaching yoga at a new gorgeous space in Tribeca NYC called Bouley Botanical. The two-hour special class has been frequented by newbies and advanced yogis a like, all enjoying physical asanas (yoga postures), guided breathing techniques, and a blissful relaxation to allow for stillness of the mind and healing of the body.
The space to no surprise, is artfully designed by Chef David Bouley and his team. High ceilings, bright light from the open windows, and a building length wall of 400+ edible herbs, plants, and flowers made this truly a divine sanctuary for yoga.
Following yoga was a delicious brunch provided by Chef Bouley, including fresh juices, teas, baked goodies and jam. The alluring aroma of the baked items themselves, being prepared in the spacious kitchen beneath the main floor, wafted through the air as we practiced. This was a true test of yoga it seemed, as the sweet scent of homemade bread could only be experienced as enticing and a distraction from quieting the mind. I don’t think any one minded nevertheless.
My organic and raw vegan chocolate treats were shared as well, happy yogis munching away together while sampling snazzy yoga clothing from 90degreebyreflex and testing essential oils by Young Living. Saturday smiles by all.
